The Ring Of Terror - Bob LeeThe Ring Of Terror - Bob Lee
A rip-roaring adventure yarn, this is the story of Detective Chief Inspector Bill Chamberlain of New Scotland Yard and his battle against an international drugs ring led by an ex-KGB officer, a thoroughly unpleasant character completely devoid of any redeeming features at all. Chamberlain's hunt starts with a letter from an old colleague in Hong Kong; the action quickly switches from London to Hong Kong, then to Europe and the Middle East, all the while keeping up a breathless pace.

It's an all-action book, carefully plotted and skilfully brought together. In Inspector Chamberlain Bob Lee has created a fascinating character: as cerebrally gifted as Colin Dexter's Morse yet calmer and with martial arts skills that would astound - and probably horrify - him.

This is a genuine can't-put-it-down read!

A Nation In Change - Bob LeeA Nation In Change - Bob Lee
Set in Britain in the period immediately following the withdrawal of the Roman army, "A Nation In Change" follows the fortunes of several generations of one noble family. Life is hard in the lands near Hadrian's Wall: winters are long and severe, Picts from the north are a constant scourge and many battles are being fought. It is a 'kill or be killed' existence.

Elsewhere other forces are set on taking lands from the indiginous Celts. Other groups of marauding Picts from Ireland forage from the west while Saxons are a dangerous threat from the East. Battle follows battle as the tribes form alliances against common enemies, but it appears there may be a saviour coming: according to the Druid known as Merlin a noble child will be born and will be called Arthur; he is to be born into the Pendragon family.

This is a spectacular, exciting, blood-soaked story from the Roman withdrawal to the birth of young Arthur, set against the background of a dark and mysterious part of British history. It's a joy to read from beginning to end.

The Dying Planet - Bob LeeThe Dying Planet - Bob Lee
It's the year 2015. A deadly virus, far worse than anything humanity has yet encountered, is sweeping around the planet but so far Australia remains unaffected thanks to its relative isolation. But Australia has a vast coastline and determined illegal immigrants could easily find their way ashore - how can the country keep itself free from infection?

It can't.

Tha narrator of this apocalyptic novel, decides that he must do something to keep his family alive and out of reach of the virus. He hatches a plan to acquire a boat and head north, as far north as he can go.

This is exactly what he does and the book follows his incredible, dangerous journey towards his ultimate objective - Alaska. It is a grim description of what mankind could possibly do, and of the levels to which individuals can descend: at times gripping, at other times horrifying, this is a novel that could so easily become reality. It's worth reading for that reason alone, but it's also a captivating and enthralling story that more than adequately repays the time spent reading it.

To Reach The Stars - Bob LeeTo Reach The Stars - Bob Lee
Bob Lee's foray into the realm of science fiction takes as its core theme the migration of human beings from Earth to settle another planet. In that, it is not unique: J Douglas Tyler has used the same theme in 'Aupes', for instance, yet in 'To Reach The Stars' the target planet is far from the Utopian ideal often portrayed elsewhere.

The group of humans chosen to be aboard the exploratory vessel find on their arrival a beautiful, Earth-like world seemingly populated by gentle and peaceful humanoids happy to welcome the newcomers to their world. The first impressions formed by the new arrivals of their hosts are very favourable as they seem to have arrived in a technologically advanced, environmentally aware community. But first impressions can be misleading. These are not the only intelligent beings to inhabit this world.

There are other races, one being peaceful whilst the other may not be blessed with great intellectual powers but is violently aggressive. But there is a balance between species, so that none gains superiority over another.

That balance ceases to exist with the rise of a rogue cross-breed having the intelligence of one species and the aggressive nature of another. While he is planning and beginning to execute his plot to dominate the planet there is, unknown to anyone, a stolen ship heading to the planet from Earth carrying a gang of escaped prisoners. A joining of malevolent forces is inevitable.

As the body count rises and destruction almost becomes a way of life the book speeds towards its truly surprising climax: which of the factions will prevail is in real doubt until the closing pages and the outcome is impossible to foretell. Bob Lee has produced another inventive and thought-provoking story, perhaps even surpassing the standards now expected of this fine writer.
